In the early 90s, I packaged the fourth, fifth and
sixth books in the series of City Books adventure catalyst books for Flying
Buffalo, Inc. Each book contained a set of loosely interwoven city settings
for use with adventure role playing games. This is the cover for CityBook
5: Sideshow, dealing mostly with non-human establishments. The image depicts
a hypothetical meeting between "The Old Man of the City" and
two leaders of a non-human terrorist group, the Sliming Path. "He
Who Honors Us" is a man who has been cursed to live as long as the
city exists. To residents of the city, he is like a patron saint. Little
do they know, he does all he can to bring the city to ruin and thus end
his overlong existence. CityBook V: Sideshow is
still in print and can be obtained through the publisher, Flying Buffalo,
Inc. Check out their site here.
