I consider this my “breakthrough” painting. With it, I changed
my approach to color and paint usage and size of my paintings. My client
noticed the difference between it and previous paintings and the amount
of work from them picked up. It was done as a cover assignment for DUNGEON
magazine and represents a creature called an “illithid” or mind
flayer railing against the heroes, who had brought destruction upon his
evil plans.
